In the pretty village of Change, situated just a few
minutes from Nolay in the Valley de la Cozanne, and on the ‘Route des
Vignobles de Beaune à Cluny’, you will find this very comfortable 2
bedroom former winemaker’s house.
Built at the turn of the 19th Century it was one of the traditional houses
of winemaker ‘Domaine Georges Guerin’, a long standing winemaker in
Change.
The lower level served as a ‘Cave’ holding large barrels of wine, and the
first floor was used as the living area with access to the rear garden and
its unique ‘pigeonnier’.
100 years later, Gerard Martini, the new owner, fell in love with the
house and gave it a new name, ‘Le Pigeonnier’. He has completely restored
the property, conserving much of the original charm and antique furniture
but at the same time has created a well equipped home with a delightful
bathroom and cleverly designed kitchen.
You will enjoy original ‘Art Noveau’ elements such as floral and geometric
floor tiles, the rosace stained glass and Henry II furniture.
Furthermore, you can taste some very good wines – Hautes Cotes de Beaune,
Maranges 1er Cru and more – at the two neighbour wineries Domaine Georges Guerin and Domaine Monnot-Roche.
